Breed Specific Legislation in the UK gets even worse.
Banning another breed won't fix the people problem.
I’ve been creating, curating and shipping fundraiser items for Save Our Seized Dogs for about a decade now and it’s an honor to help them with raising funds on their Facebook page and at their dog show event and others around the UK.
This year I am also adding a limited number of fundraiser items for US supporters as well.
We only have 5 of these gorgeous 6 inch acrylic sun catchers left! Get one with a cache of cool decals and stickers in 2 easy steps!

All dogs are born innocent. Full stop. The work has been done to study the idea that breed is a determining factor in dog aggression. Experts in dog behavior have tried to explain this truth to the UK Parliament, but sadly they persist in ignoring the empirical evidence, science and expert recommendations regarding dog bite realities and public safety. This is really a people problem. The people who abuse them, neglect them, backyard breed them, force them to fight. And the people that allow it to continue though ignorance or indifference.
After 32 years of banning breeds The Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991 has not only failed to keep the UK public safe from dog bites it has broken the hearts and homes of thousands of families whose completely harmless and innocent dogs were taken because they appear Pit Bull type.
It’s incredibly disappointing that the people of the UK aren’t more aware of this atrocity happening right under their noses, but with the addition of the XL Bully to the list of banned breeds there has certainly been an increase in attention to the issue, maybe it will make a difference and people won’t stand for this in their name any longer. We’ll see I guess.
In the meantime… funds are needed every single day to help families fight in court to get their seized dogs home. Our friends at Save Our Seized Dogs are on the front lines of that battle everyday helping families pay the thousands of pounds (even with discounted rates from solicitors and behavioral experts) it takes to fight an innocent dogs seizure.
